22 Oct Resuinsa: From a family workshop in Valencia to supplying hotels in more than 140 countries
Resuinsa, the Valencian company that began with a few weaving machines in Montaverner (Valencia), is about to reach half a century of history defined by innovation, tradition, and sustainability.
Officially founded in 1976, with business roots dating back to 1926 through the group it belongs to (Resuinsa Group), the company has established itself as a global benchmark in the hospitality textile sector, exporting nearly 45% of its production to more than 140 countries worldwide.
From its humble beginnings, when Mateo Martí, after years of learning in a textile shop in Barcelona, decided to launch his own venture and brought in his first weaving machines, Resuinsa has specialized in creating technical and durable textiles tailored to the specific needs of the hospitality industry, hospitals, and care homes.
That entrepreneurial spirit remains at the core of the company. Félix Martí, current CEO and third-generation family member, recalls: “My grandfather started from scratch, with great effort and a clear vision of the future.” Since taking over in 1996, he has driven the company’s evolution by combining artisanal tradition with cutting-edge technologies to deliver products of maximum quality and reliability.

With its headquarters in Alboraya (Valencia), a logistics hub in Anna and direct presence in America, Africa and Asia, Resuinsa has a team of nearly 100 professionals and closed 2024 with a turnover of €46M, consolidating steady 10% annual growth. The United States, Panama and several European countries stand out as its key markets, reflecting its strength and international momentum.
The international leap that changed everything
For decades, Resuinsa operated mainly in Spain, until the summer of 2000 changed its course. Félix recalls: “I was enjoying a day at the beach when I got a call from a hotel chain with a huge order. I grabbed a napkin and a pen and started writing: thousands of towels, sheets and more. When I asked where to send it, the answer shocked me: ‘To Puerto Colón, Panama.’”
With no export experience, they produced and shipped the order and learned how to operate in Panama, their first international market. That moment became the starting point of an international strategy that now brings Resuinsa to hotels and resorts worldwide.
Innovation and sustainability as pillars
Resuinsa’s international expansion has gone hand in hand with a continuous commitment to technological innovation. It was a pioneer in integrating RFID technology to control textile traceability, a key tool that enables hotels to better manage resources, reduce losses and minimize environmental impact, explains the CEO.
The company also promotes textile recycling initiatives, such as the pilot project in the Canary Islands to recover and reuse fibers from hotel textiles, moving towards a circular economy in the sector.

Looking ahead
Resuinsa continues to move forward with a clear vision of the future, driving business evolution aligned with its values. Among its latest projects is a new consumer line designed to bring the comfort and design of top hotels into people’s homes. Under the slogan “Your home, your hotel,” Resuinsa translates its professional expertise into the domestic environment.
“The biggest challenge is outdoing ourselves every day,” says Félix Martí. “This is not just about competing. We are committed to staying true to who we are: a family-owned company with an international mindset, innovating with purpose and acting with integrity.”
Looking ahead to 2026, when the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary and the group will mark a full century, Resuinsa reaffirms its commitment to high-level hospitality, where every detail matters. From its Valencian roots, it continues to project its know-how onto the global stage.
