15 Feb Resuinsa’s R&D&i experience showcased in the first technological hotel bedroom
The Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero has spearheaded a project incorporating AI, as well as other digital technology and solutions.
Artificial intelligence and the latest advances in innovation have fully arrived for hotel bedrooms. The first national demonstration was on display at ITH TechYRoom 1.0, a project promoted by the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) and Valencia Regional Tourism Department, with support from Resuinsa.
The staged room at the Hotel RH Corona del Mar in Benidorm showcased a set of digital technology and solutions aimed at improving guest experience. The showroom spotlighted innovation in textile solutions from Resuinsa for hotel rooms in a future that is already here. The ITH’s showpiece highlighted the firm’s R&D&i expertise.
‘Developing technology is part of our DNA, just as it is for the ITH. For this reason, the ‘technological hotel bedroom’ represents an opportunity to continue moving forward in the hotel industry in light of the unstoppable progress in AI, as well as the benefits its correct use can offer’, highlights Resuinsa CEO Félix Martí.
ITH TechYroom 1.0 aims to both successfully integrate technology into the guest experience and optimise tasks for hotel staff. For Martí, ‘our company fully incorporates digital transformation and innovation. This sparked us to join this flagship initiative from the ITH. The showcase fully immerses us into how technology can offer a standout specialised service across all elements in a hotel room, including textiles’.
In turn, aspects such as sustainability, the circular economy and energy efficiency were fully considered in designing the ‘technological hotel bedroom’. ‘Protecting the environment is not at odds with innovation—quite the contrary. This is why this space is a source of inspiration for all future hotel bedrooms and could serve as an example for the industry, where advances such as IA are all the rage’, underlines Martí.
