16 Jul Resuinsa has been committed to the ecology for over 22 years
Since 1998 Resuinsa has manufactured its products under the auspices of the ecology in line with sustainability, environmental and resource criteria. The Company has once again been re-certified, being awarded the international OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate that ensures its products are free from any chemical ingredients and substances that may be harmful to health.
The certificate is issued by an independent body, based on continual, rigorous tests of the textiles undertaken by the Textile Technology Institute (AITEX) in Spain—a certifying body member of the OEKO-TEX Association®. To attain certification, research and precision criteria must be met that go beyond even those set out in national legislation in any individual country.
In this sense, Resuinsa CEO Félix Martí has stated that Resuinsa’s commitment to ecology ‘has a long history and has always been a huge part of the manufacturing process for our products. This is why we have been awarded the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate for 22 straight years, underscoring the quality, trust and sustainability in how we produce our textiles’.
The audit results show that Resuinsa’s products comply with the strictest ecological and human standards currently set out in the Standard 100 certification process. This involves an independent analysis and certification system for basic, intermediate and final products across all stages of production.
In turn, the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a top global ecological certification for textile products that is renewed on a yearly basis. One of the requirements to attain certification is for all components in an item to comply with the required quality criteria, without exception. In this vein, the analyses comprise: complete absence of any prohibited substances or chemical product known to be harmful to health, and full compliance with occupational health standards. Moreover, the more the skin comes into contact with the textile product, the more demanding the analysis conditions are, since they are guided by effective use of the fabric.
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate is part of STeP – Sustainable Textile Production, since it includes an exhaustive reliable analysis of the scope of sustainability across six management areas for: chemical products; environmental protection; environmental management; health and safety; social responsibility, and quality. This marks STeP out from other certificates which generally only take into account certain individual aspects of sustainability.
